SELF RELIANCE

Eschewing the 80's term of "it's not my job man", humankind must release the millennial concept of entitlement.

Our birthright given to us by God, is being made in His image and likeness of powerful, joyful and eternal unconditional love.

Self-reliance is evidence of our trust & faith in God's power to move mountains in our lives, and give us strength to triumph over trials and afflictions.

As well as is the ability, commitment and effort to provide the spiritual and temporal necessities of life for self and family.

My Mother and Grandparents taught me as soon as I could walk, to learn to do things on my own.

To pick up my toys, make my bed, clean my bathroom, put my dishes in the sink, place my chair back where it belonged, etc., etc.

And once I was mentored enough after kindergarten, I was assigned specific chores to EARN my allowance.

Bottom line ________no work ~ no pay!

As parents, professors, guardians, and older siblings, we must teach those that we are responsible for, to do all that they can by themselves.

And yet, to be humble enough to ask for help when they cannot.

Not foolish pride or arrogance, self reliance promotes building:

° self esteem

° leadership skills

° purposeful life enjoyment

° laser-focused methodical thinking

Self reliant people can become like Sitting Bull, the spiritual and tribal leader of the Lakota Sioux.

His most admired credo:

"The warrior is not someone who fights, because no one has the right to take another life.

The warrior, for us, is one who sacrifices himself for the good of others.

His task is to take care of the elderly, the defenseless, those who cannot provide for themselves, and above all, the children, the future of humanity."

Children today are being mollycoddled into becoming "dumpers", to push away their duties onto others; and act bratty and cruel if their demands are not met.

Parents are mistakenly raising their kids as peer "buddies", causing them to become depressed, lazy, obese and co-dependent on them and others before prepubescence.

Because mothers and fathers are too busy sometimes working 2 jobs, or so selfish that they abandon their parental responsibilities to be social media approval sponges, most of today's children are not being taught to be courteous and respectful.

We must all emulate Sitting Bull, to create a better world for our future generations, by hands-on mentoring the blessing of SELF RELIANCE.
